January
Photoreporter Festival: Uses public and private funds to finance photojournalists for the production of new work. The projects, then, form part of the Photoreporter festival in Saint-Brieuc, France.

February
Texas Photo Roundup: A new event in Austin, Texas geared toward commercial and editorial photographers. Started out as a one day event and is growing quickly! Includes workshops, panel discussions and portfolio reviews.
Reportage Festival: International Photo Festival in Sydney focusing on photojournalism and documentary photography (date not yet on website but will occur in early 2013).

March
FotoFest: Biannual festival in Houston, Texas aimed at fine art market with weeks of portfolio reviews.
MOPLA: Month long celebration of photography in Los Angeles focusing on commercial, fine art and photojournalism.
FORMAT International Photography Festival: biennale festival in Derby UK that takes place in the beginning of March into April. FORMAT festival celebrates the wealth of contemporary practice in international photography.

April
Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival: Diverse exhibitions, professional panel discussions and two competitions showcasing 10 photographers and 10 fashion designers selected by a jury of professionals in each field.
Palm Springs Photo Festival: Mix of workshops, portfolio reviews and slideshows aimed at commercial, editorial, and fine art photographers.
Photo Lucida: Every other April, an international set of photographers and reviewers gather in Portland, Oregon for a five-day celebration of photography that includes lectures, workshops, and exhibition collaborations.

May
CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival: Annual festival of photography in Toronto, with over 1000 local, national and international artists exhibiting at almost 200 venues.
Guernsey Photography Festival: Brings together major names in international photography with a host of emerging talent, for a packed month of exhibitions, workshops and events on the beautiful island of Guernsey.
LOOK Liverpool International Photography Festival: Festival in England that includes exhibition openings, artists’ talks, workshops.
New York Photo Festival: Mix of fine art, editorial, and commercial work with exhibitions all over DUMBO, Brooklyn.
Photo Month in Krakow: A month long festival in Poland with a fine art orientation.

June
Flash Forward Festival Boston: An extension of The Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Annual Competition for Emerging Photographers. Five-day festival based out of the Fairmont Battery Wharf, offering organized networking events and educational programming.
London Street Photography Festival: Expanding to encompass street, documentary and conceptual photography, the festival includes exhibitions, workshops, talks and screenings.
LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph: Exhibitions, presentations, interviews, workshops and outdoor projections in Charlottesville, Virginia.
PHotoEspaña: Festival in Madrid lasting until the end of July with various exhibitions throughout the city.
Photoville: a unique, large-scale, photographic village with Shipping Containers in the heart of Brooklyn Bridge Park, at the Pier 3 Uplands, located on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

July
Fotopub: Festival celebrating European documentary photography in Slovenia.
PhotoIreland: Festival in Dublin that celebrates Ireland’s photographic talents as well as brings international practitioners and artists to Ireland.
The Rencontres d’Arles: Combination of fine art and photojournalism in France.

August
Belfast Photo Festival: Biannual festival in Ireland with portfolio reviews, exhibitions, workshops, and seminars.

September
Noorderlicht International Photo Festival: Annual photo festival in The Netherlands in which diverse photographic genres and series are welded into a thematic narrative and exhibited.
Visa pour l’Image: Festival focusing on photojournalism in Perpignan, France that is well attended by international photo editors and agents.
Unseen: An international photography fair in Amsterdam focused on undiscovered photography talent and unseen work by established photographers.

October
Atlanta Celebrates Photography: 150 photo-related exhibitions and events, hosted by a diverse network of venues across the Atlanta metro area.
Brighton Photo Biennial: Month long curated photo festival in the UK and with 60,000 visitors in 2010, one of the best attended in the world.
Hereford Photography Festival: Annual photography festival in the UK that focuses on documentary work.
Photo Plus Expo, hosted by Photo District News at the Javits Center in New York City. The expo has three parts: convention floor where people can check out photo related gear and services, the portfolio reviews (hosted by Palm Springs Photo Festival organizers) and the workshops, lectures and panel discussions.

November
FotoWeek DC: A week long, city-wide festival that takes place annually in Washington DC.
Paris Photo: Festival in Paris, France with 135 galleries and publishers coming from twenty or so countries and more than 50,000 visitors.
PhotoNOLA: An annual festival of photography in New Orleans, coordinated by the New Orleans Photo Alliance in partnership with galleries, museums and photographers citywide.
Medium Festival of Photographya 4-day photography event with an engaging line up of portfolio reviews and artist lectures on photography. Takes place in San Diego.
