  1. 01. About

Over the last 20 years, I've been an editorial photo editor, project manager, marketing director, artist representative and freelance art producer. I use this mix of experiences to help commercial photographers get the kinds of jobs they are looking for. Through smart editing, up-to-date knowledge of what art buyers are looking for and real world marketing experience, I help photographers take their businesses to new heights.

For companies, I provide art production services, including logistics, hiring photographers, licensing images, photo editing and managing budgets.

    Background

I studied photojournalism at the University of Texas at Austin, headed to London right after graduation and then landed in San Francisco at the beginning of the first dot com boom. At SF Gate.com, I was responsible for hiring photographers around the world and sourcing unique and powerful images.

I continued on to photo editing in New York City at magazines and then at photo agencies. I worked at Corbis, producing breaking news and long form photo essays with Corbis' global team of photographers. I worked closely with the photographers to hone their vision and bring clarity to their projects, as well as pitching their stories to domestic and international clients.

In 2003, I joined the staff of the newly-formed Redux Pictures, a boutique photo agency specializing in editorial and commercial commissions. As an artist representative, I landed assignments with some of the top editorial and corporate clients here and abroad. My editing helped photographers gain recognition from prestigious contests such as World Press Photo, Communication Arts, Photo District News, POY and American Photography. My marketing efforts, which included producing high profile photo events, blogging and award-winning collateral, helped solidify the agency's reputation in the photo industry as a top source for creative talent around the world.

    Which brings us to today

I launched my freelance business in Austin in 2010. Since then, I've focused on marketing and photo editing for photographers, magazines and commercial clients.

Recent clients include: Christa Renee, Kari Medig, Jonathan Hanson, Jennifer Whitney, Travel by Handstand, The Big Weekend Calendar, Merge Records, Sarah Lim, Dennis Burnett, Matt Eich, Stephanie Rausser, David Maurice Smith, Donna Alberico, Jody Horton, Kimberly Davis, Leah Fasten, Mathew Zucker and others.

    Bonus Points

I'm very proud to have launched I Love Texas Photo, a site dedicated to all things photography in Texas. We feature interviews with Texas-based creatives, host workshops and events and produce the Texas Photo Roundup.

In March 2012 I Recently we opened our online shop, stocked with stunning fine art prints by Texas-based artists.

And the project I'm most proud of: my sweet little family.
